That makes sense, thanks. He does his normal little chatter and crowing but then also some very strange ones haThe neuorligical for can make them do all sorts of strange things.
AnotherI had a bird that did the EXACT same thing. Two vets said likely mereks. There is a test you can do while the bird is alive but it’s not nearly as accurate as the necropsy version of the test. I have the live test done. It was negative thankfully. Since he is a rather valuable cemani rooster and we’re very attached, we had advanced imaging done. We had to go thru ct and mri and other various tests at the university vet hospital before they found two hairline fractures that he agitated.

Aside from an occasional flare up where he’s a little limpy (I treat him with meloxacam) he’s perfectly normal but not as agile as the rest. We keep him in an area with low roosts as they figure it was likely a roost related injury from jumping down. It took three weeks inside before he could walk at all. And another three weeks before he could walk well. He’s fine now. Just a little more fragile. The two vets I went to first basically told me they through mereks. The vets at the university were convinced it was not.
I have a cockerel making all sorts of strange noises right now, and it's because he is stressed. He has to be kept separate because I have two and they fight. The separated one was also challenging me, so that's how he won the booby prize. Anyway, I'm just mentioning that strange sounds can also be stress related. That makes sense, thanks. Thank you so much!! This is very interesting and helpful!!! I’m kind of tempted to try this but idk.I had a bird that did the EXACT same thing. Two vets said likely mereks. Thanks! That makes sense. I wondered if it was stress or pain related actually but wasn’t sure.I have a cockerel making all sorts of strange noises right now, and it's because he is stressed. I'm going to say I don't think he has the ocular version. Two from each side. They look normal to me?
