I'm glad you're getting some, too!

Mine shipped from her on a Monday, and got here in Minnesota on Thursday, if that helps.

I'd loved to see your babies when they hatch! I'm really not sure what i'm gonna do with myself when i start the incubating process. I'll have to find some distractions lol

Actually, my mom has two chicks hatched out right now, the rest working on it. And apparently we might have a muscovy duck mixed in there somewhere. we're keeping an eye on it, wouldn't that be neat to have a surprise duck hatch out?

It's been about a week since I candled them. I wasn't sure how they'd be because there has been temperature fluctuations. There were at least 4 that looked dead, and two that are for sure alive. The other I can't tell.

Well it is day 6 for the Silkie Eggs that spiked to 107. I couldnt stand it any longer and went ahead and candled them. I am not very good at candling yet so if there isnt something literally moving around I am unsure. Over 1/2 of the 40 eggs had signs of movement (black dots) so I am really relieved to see life! I will let you guys know after day 10 how it comes out.

Tomorrow is my lockdown on my first duck eggs.

One of my call ducks hatched today! I'm so excited because this was my first hatch and even though I was hopeful, I didn't have high expectations. But this little guy hatched all by himself over a period of about 36 hours. He's adorable--I'll be sure to post photos tomorrow. Right now he's still in the incubator drying off (and rolling his siblings around in their eggs). He's very social and loves to chitchat with my boyfriend and me. So cute!

Today I went to TSC and picked up MannaPro's Gamebird/Showbird starter feed. The ingredients list a niacin supplement but don't specify the amount. Has anyone else used this brand? Should I add niacin to the water? I take niacin pills myself, so I can share them with the baby.

It is day 35 with my muscovy eggs in the incubator. Tonight 12 out of 19 eggs have pipped but no ducklings yet. That is why I like quail...they pip and 3 minutes later they hatch.
