Do you think they'd get here alright if they were sent out on Tuesday? If so, then that's fine with me.
and it occurs to me that Monday is a holiday, are you ok with tuesday ship ducklover700? or I could postpone 1 week - your call!
well, your ancona, really...![]()
Hi all![]()
I'm new to this site but wanted to join in. I'm from the UK and there doesn't seem to be many active duck forums over here so after reading this forum for the past few weeks I thought I'd join in![]()
I am currently incubating 5 pekin eggs, 1 was infertile but I am happy with 5. They are due to hatch next Saturday, this is my first time hatching and I'm super excited. Depending on what sexes I get will depend on how many I keep, this is my first time owning ducks and I wanted to hatch my own to bond with from the very beginning plus it's nice for both my daughters to watch (I have an 8 year old with special needs and an almost 6 year old). Both my girls are like me love animals and all things nature!
Candling the eggs has been fun and I already know I will be a nervous wreck next weekend.
My first ever incubator and brooder have arrivedCan't wait until i get some hatching eggs in 2 weeks to test them out..,. Works out very well as i should be incubating them the day my broody duck has her eggs hatch! i'm so excited. Hopefully i'll have some June babies

We have, I think, 12 eggs under our Muscovy girl EllieShe just started sitting today so if I did my math correct hatch day should be the 29th of June? A few days after I get home from a week of vacation! Hoping they won't go early or something silly lol![]()

So happy you're hatching ducks! This is my first time hatching and first time having ducks, so I'm very excited, too! Mine are due next Friday, so I think we'll both be nervous wrecks!Hope everything goes well for you!![]()
Nice candling stats! Always a good feeling to see lots of life!Candled tonight - 7/10 for sure have movement. 2 I was pretty sure about, and one was just too full to see anything. I hope that's alright...they still have 7 days to go - but there's no more room!
Is it normal for the ducklings to be different sizes in there? That one fills up everything but the air cell, but two others have quite a bit of empty space. Most of the others are pretty full, but there's a bit of space at the small end and a bit at the air cell end. Is the one that's so full alright?
I also have a dark spot on one of the eggs. I don't remember it at the beginning, but it's been there for a while now. It's just below the air cell - a little round dark spot that looks like it's something on the inside of the shell. Is it bacteria? The duckling inside that one is definitely moving, but it's one of the small ones. Should I be worried?
njduck - Congratulations on your hatchlings! Any pictures?![]()
WallabyofChaos - Don't give up on your iffy ones yet - I had two iffy ones at day 7 that were definitely good on day 10, so don't worry too soon!Congratulations on your growing ones!![]()
