MAY Hatch-Along!!!! Let's do this!!!

We have, I think, 12 eggs under our Muscovy girl Ellie

She just started sitting today so if I did my math correct hatch day should be the 29th of June? A few days after I get home from a week of vacation! Hoping they won't go early or something silly lol

Do you think they'd get here alright if they were sent out on Tuesday? If so, then that's fine with me.

Yep, mine are toadbriar eggs! I'm so excited!

I'm glad you're getting some, too!

Mine shipped from her on a Monday, and got here in Minnesota on Thursday, if that helps.

Hi all

I'm new to this site but wanted to join in. I'm from the UK and there doesn't seem to be many active duck forums over here so after reading this forum for the past few weeks I thought I'd join in

I am currently incubating 5 pekin eggs, 1 was infertile but I am happy with 5. They are due to hatch next Saturday, this is my first time hatching and I'm super excited. Depending on what sexes I get will depend on how many I keep, this is my first time owning ducks and I wanted to hatch my own to bond with from the very beginning plus it's nice for both my daughters to watch (I have an 8 year old with special needs and an almost 6 year old). Both my girls are like me love animals and all things nature!

Candling the eggs has been fun and I already know I will be a nervous wreck next weekend.

Hi UKducklover! Welcome to the hatch-along and welcome to BYC!!!

Do you have any other animals?

So happy you're hatching ducks! This is my first time hatching and first time having ducks, so I'm very excited, too! Mine are due next Friday, so I think we'll both be nervous wrecks!

Hi Quackers08! Congratulations on your incubator! What kind of eggs are you getting?

How many eggs does your broody have? That's exciting! I had a broody hen a couple of years ago who sat on some eggs - it was so fun and they were such a cute little family!

Hi PetesMom! Thank you for joining us! What a happy little mama! Hope everything goes well!

Candled tonight - 7/10 for sure have movement. 2 I was pretty sure about, and one was just too full to see anything. I hope that's alright...they still have 7 days to go - but there's no more room!

Is it normal for the ducklings to be different sizes in there? That one fills up everything but the air cell, but two others have quite a bit of empty space. Most of the others are pretty full, but there's a bit of space at the small end and a bit at the air cell end. Is the one that's so full alright?

I also have a dark spot on one of the eggs. I don't remember it at the beginning, but it's been there for a while now. It's just below the air cell - a little round dark spot that looks like it's something on the inside of the shell. Is it bacteria? The duckling inside that one is definitely moving, but it's one of the small ones. Should I be worried?

njduck - Congratulations on your hatchlings! Any pictures?

WallabyofChaos - Don't give up on your iffy ones yet - I had two iffy ones at day 7 that were definitely good on day 10, so don't worry too soon!

Congratulations on your growing ones!

I used to have French lop rabbits which I showed and bred, I do miss them but I gave them up when me and my partner split a few years ago.
