Metzer Farms quality...

In high school I had a large flock of registered Suffolk sheep and showed them extensively. But as Suffolk sheep are not the same as Blue Swedish ducks, I profess to have no expertise in showing waterfowl. However, I am in the process of video taping our duck and goose breeder flocks and will send those to Dave Holderread and he will "judge" them. We will try and set up some sort of 1-10 scale and then share that with everyone on our website. Hope this helps!

We will also post these videos on our website so everyone can see the whole breeder flock, not just a picture of a single bird or two.

Thanks,
John Metzer

That would be awesome Mr. Metzer. I am ordering ducklings and a gosling from you for March delivery and I am so excited! Thank you very much for all of your helpful information and great customer service. I look forward to seeing pictures of your breeding stock.

What a wonderful idea I look forward to seeing the video.. I have a pair of WH's I ordered from Metzers May of 2009. I has a trio but lost one female to an upper respertory infection back in Feb.. I really love my Welsh Harlequins.. I had a pair of cayugas that I ordered with the WH's but had to rehome them. I loved them too. They went to a good home .
I'm hoping Daisy and Stanley will give me ducklings in the spring. also condsidering ordering hatching eggs .

Thank you for your kindness, just the action of you actually addressing us personally is important to me. This consideration alone is why I only order from your hatchery and another Ideal.

Thanks;

I am totally happy with my Metzer ducks. I don't plan to show them, I wanted them for eggs. I learned lots from the site, it is well organized for choosing what you want when. I figured they would come Wednesday, they were hatched monday...they came Tuesday at 6:30 am! I am 3 hours driving time from gonzales, ca.

One of my Cayuga's has a blueish purple tint to the black...the rest are green.

they sent me two extra's and the one I didn't want was a mallard...I think I got 3! LOL. I did ask for 3 mixed....and there are the two extra....I have to say the Hybrid 300 are the loudest, they are the watch ducks. They are also the one that holler in the morning for me to get my lazy butt up and let them out.

The staff I dealt with (I ended up ordering on the phone with maybe an Allison?) anyway, she was great, very helpful and patient while I floundered a bit.

Thanks, Metzer farms for messing up my yard.....err, sending me my babies!

Hi John

I have 2 Metzer ducks (had 3 - a hawk got one). They arrived healthy, happy, and I was able to get exactly what I needed. I have a small area and didn't have time to worry about extra drakes so I paid a little more to make sure I got hens. While I definitely would not consider them show quality, they are champion layers. My best layer is Wendy. She is a MACHINE and even lays in the middle of winter. Shelley lays almost as well as Wendy and turned out to be a bit of a smartypants and an escape artist.

I always tell people if they need healthy, all-purpose ducks to check out your website.

Shelly is beautiful!I can see even as a baby she was all attitude! She knows she is beautiful....Wendy is lovely too. I love Bebe's speckled beak, looks like Shelly got it too.

Are they the hybrid? What breed are they? I can't tell

We have ordered a Starter Kit, and a book from Metzer Farms. The ducks are coming on February 14th. I can't say the quality of the ducks (But I have heard GREAT things), but they have great service, and they deliver fast! I say go with Metzer's!

(P.S. Who else thinks it's cool that John Metzer's on here?!

Oh my, those are cute photos! I also think it's cool that John Metzer is here, too. I haven't ordered my ducks, yet, but their business seems to be a good choice for backyard waterfowl flocks.

I first heard about Metzer Farms when I posted a slideshow on Youtube about some ducks at our lake. They wanted to send me a gift certificate if I mention them in the description of the slideshow I made. I didn't answer them back because I didn't know anything about them, plus I couldn't use the certificate because I can't get ducks right now. I don't know if it's too late to e-mail them back to get the certificate. In the very least, I could get duck eggs for eating, books, or other ducky stuff for friends.
