I am looking for some nice well bred Silkies or Showgirls. It seems no one here in Michigan has chicks or adults available. I could buy eggs but I spet $40.00 on eggs and only 3 out of twenty some look like they will hatch. Most are clear. So I just paid $13.33 per chicken......that sucks!

Anyway...here are my list of needs in addition to Silkies & Showgirls....

BLRW chicks or adults
Americana chicks / adults
Polish....all colors. I have a beautiful pair right now but I would like to ad to the flock.

No hatchery stock please )

You also aren't new to me but WELCOME anyway. That blue orpington hen is laying steadily so when you want eggs let me know 10 days ahead of when you want to start hatching and I will save them for you. Consider them a welcoming gift from an old grandpa.

I can totally relate!! They have a two more weeks, then they are in the garage! It's not the chicks that are driving me crazy though. It's the kids with the chicks! If I could figure out a way to lock them out I would. My DD brought a chick to the table the other day, and I don't mean the roasted kind.

There is a woman that works at Livingston Feed and Seed out in Howell that would love as many 'scovies that we can bring her. I did not discuss $$. So I wouldn't worry about them having a place to go. Besides, I think that my hubby is fully on board for the ducks so I could probably keep a few more than I originally thought!!

Oh...And good advice is good advice!!

Hope everyone got to enjoy the great day. Started off a little dreary but ended with dinner on the deck! I love spring!!

YAY!!! I am so glad you have the person lined up- don't let her change her mind...how about 'maybe muscovies' ? lol. The reason why I like getting eggs from Manahiem is because of the surprise factor! I never really know what to expect until they hatch! I will let the new eggs sit until I am ready to go to bed- then i will candle the scovy eggs in the incubator and put the new ones in there. Really? Are we only on day 10? Not even half way there yet?

Good morning. Yesterday turned out nice. We got to visit with our cousin who got me hooked on chickens. She is getting back into them herself again. I think I got her hooked on turkeys too she sat and held my hen for like a half and hour. Daisy fell asleep in her arms.

Hi everyone, it's been a rough couple of days. I came down with a stomach bug Thursday night while at work. Ugh! They finally forced me to go home when I could barely stand up and was shaking from "cold". Got home to find out I was running a 102 temp.....it was not long before all the other stomach bug stuff started kicking in. Friday my BP must have fallen and I passed out. It's happend before, but I only had time to sit down instead of lay down. I landed on a metal shelf with my shoulder and the bottow half of my body twisted the other direction. Needless to say it was not good for my back. Finally starting to feel better and Aidan (7) woke up with tada "stomach bug" last night. I was up all night with him and feel like the living dead.

On a good note we had our first hatch last Friday. There are 11 new chicks in the brooder. The second hatch is on day 19 and surprise surprise we have 2 new peeps in the incubator and plenty of pips to go around. One of these is from my EExAmeracauna cross. Can't wait to see how that little chicky turns out.

I excited about next week. The geese are being shipped to Vicki on the 29th and a whole bunch of BYC'ers will be out my way on the 1st. Yahoo!
