I have some Blue Orps on order from MP and Buster, it's to cold to ship right now, so I am just waiting for the weather.

I'd almost like to try the incubator out just to make sure its all working and I know what I'm doing beforehand. But I only have one bator and not sure when the weather will be conducive for the shipping of my eggs....so, I'm just waiting.

Steve we have Ameraucana chickens that the eggs should be fertile if you want to try some. Just to test run the bator:D
We live a 1/2 hour east of Lansing, at the 131 mile marker on the north side of the freeway.

We are off to Brighton today for homeschool classes. The garage is clean and ready for ballett this afternoon. (It's heated) New group of kids for this semester of ballet. In 10 weeks they will have dances memorized and then they go and perform at area nursing homes and assisted living places. The elderly folks just LOVE it!

Have a great day!

Sarah

PS> There is no way I could enjoy all the breads, bagels, and other goodies MJ is baking and the rest of you....the scale would be moving in the wrong direction! LOL

Good morning, folks!

I'm going to be posting my extra French Copper Black Marans cockerels on Craigslist and BestFarmBuys today, but wanted to first offer them to any BYC member for free.

These guys are 6 weeks old, from EXCELLENT bloodlines (PM me for details), and were hatched from very dark eggs (my avatar shows 3 of the eggs they hatched from). For those wanting fresh blood for their Marans line, these guys will compliment your flock nicely. Also, for those with EEs or Ameraucanas, when crossed with a Copper Black Marans roo, the resulting pullets will lay olive-colored eggs (we call them Olive Eggers). See MaransGuy's avatar; he's got an olive colored egg in it.

Anywho, let me know if anyone is interested in a cockerel or two; offered free to BYC members, and will advertise them next week. Thanks!

Marli's chicks :

I've looked at their catalog several times.

Didn't see anything about their temperment.

Oops, my bad.

I forgot you were asking about temperment.

As I don't know anything about the greys and how they compare to orps and Isa I can't comment.

Morning ladies.

We have our poker this weekend I have a long night tonite 3:30to3:30 yak but worth it helps to feed the wildlife

We got ISAs from Townline last year, they are laying their fluffy butts off. Temperamentally they don't like to be handled all that much but come running for treats and attention. Sometimes they come up on my deck and peck at the door, also peck at car bumpers in summertime trying to get the bugs off. They are great layers and terrible pigs. One problem I've heard of with ISAs is they tend to be internal layers, but we haven't experienced any problems yet.

Crystal, so sad about your gp. be well!
