I have been wanting to ask this, since we soon will be trying to sell off some of our eggs. Those of you who sell eggs at your house, what is your method pretty please?
I have a sign at the road advertising eggs for sale. I have a small refrigerator on the porch with a sign on the door that reads "feed costs are up. It now costs $2 per dozen to produce these eggs. Store bought organic eggs are over $4 and they are many days old. Help with my feed costs. Leave what you feels is fair."

Please leas what you feels is free. Next to the refrigerator is a locked & secured box with the word money on it. So far I haven't lost an egg and folks leave from $3 to $5.

DH comes home from work and says "Joe needs 2 dozen eggs or Paul needs a dozen"

On the lines of lost teeth, what do you do with them? I've been curious about it for the past couple days after recalling that I had kept all of my lost teeth in a jewelery box drawer.
My parents never did the 'tooth fairy' thing with us, we just showed the tooth and got a bit of change, then got to do whatever we wanted with the tooth. My siblings usually tossed theirs in the garbage but I, for some creepy reason, decided to keep mine tucked away. What do parents who take the teeth do with them? Throw them out, tuck them in a box, let the kids choose?
I always threw them out. Ewww..definitely didnt need to keep them. Kids lost a tooth, put it under the pillow...Id swipe it out for cash, then toss it. My luck- if I had kept them, they would have found them...

Yah, we did the same thing - pretty standard ops for most parents.

Juice, its not that the birds can't go in, but that they wont. Once they settle in and it is dark out they will not go in, even if it rains. They wont move around in the dark.

I take my eggs to work and sell them. $2.50 a dozen.

Just had a nice visit with Taprock, she kindly saved me some guinea eggs. Her son the chicken wrangler showed me their cute cage of young birds, including his pretty calico cochins and the wild-haired polish.

It's Juise's birthday!? Happy Birthday Juise!!!

Happy belated birthday Juise! Hope it was a good one!

Well that was interesting.
To move the topsoil, I used the lawn tractor and cart. Now there is a valid reason that these machines have a cup holder. And my cup holder had a an adult beverage. Crabby was home and saw what I was doing.

About 10-15 minutes later a police car cruises by and stops in front of my house. The police man watches me for a couple of minutes then slowly drives around the corner. He stops there for a bit then moves on. The same cop cruises by 3 times in the next half-hour. Each time I was shoveling dirt and not "driving" the tractor, but the beer was clearly sitting out in the open.

So can you get a DUI while mowing?

Isn't there a country song about this?

I hope that you encourage his interest in cooking. All three of my sons cook and are actually better at it than their wives.

The only thing sexier than a guy who can cook is one who can make me laugh. Both together are fireworks.

I now clean the house twice a week -- Wednesday and Saturday

Er... this is streamlined?? I do once a week - well once a week for bathroom, floors, etc (I may spot vac mid week but not much). Dusting takes place when I get around to it or when my eyes start to get itchy. Listening to you guys I fear that I'm some horrible slob. Not that I'm going to change anything, mind, but still.

It looks I am officially running an orphanage now. M2M just brought me another duckling. Little guy moved right in with the bigger ducklings.

Those pics are adorable. Is it just me or do ducklings totally look like they know some key truth but they're just not going to tell you. Because they're ducklings and they don't have to.

And everyone else's baby pics were adorable! Taprock, Pippin is crazy (I mean that in an awesome way).

I really, really need it to stop raining. I worked my tail off to try to build the coop last weekend and didn't quuuuiiiiite get it done. I figured, no worries I'll get it done Monday or Tuesday. IT KEEPS RAINING ON ME!

I'm so close to being done and being able to move the chicks in.

It was beautiful all day today... until I actually got done working. Then it rained.

Someone hates me, I can tell.

Ummm, I think we need pictures of these!!!

Well, if I remember correctly from our chat you also don't have two kids, four dogs, a house bunny and a beta fish named Rosie to clean up after.

Makes a BIG difference.

The floors here have dirt and fur on them literally minutes after I sweep. I choose to ignore it other than twice a week. Builds character.

And to be perfectly fair, when I say "clean" I by no means mean "Martha Stewart Clean", I mean I make sure everything is put away where it belongs, vacuum, sweep, mop, clean toilets, wipe down counters/backsplashes and tubs, and run a dust rag over the main surfaces -- as a matter of fact, in that order. About once every other week I polish the appliances (fingerprint prone stainless) and about once a month -- or when I can no longer see through them -- I wash windows. Good enough.

Ooooh, I see, thank you.

I try to clean every day, and yet it still seems that Olive gets more cleaning done.
