I've read the rules and have already reported the user. Some of their posts have been deleted.
I am just voicing my frustrations at the users who insist on bringing their books and statements related onto this site.

Hmm... just gave myself an idea. @Cyprus perhaps any time we see this begin to happen in a thread we give the posters a brief tutorial on how to use the private conversation feature on this site and ask them to take their conversation there, perhaps even tag a moderator so they can clean up the thread if it's gotten bad enough.

to the OP I understand what you are saying about a thread heading a different direction, but what I can't stand also is there are some threads that are for discussion of these type topics BYC does not really like them because they tend to go off the rails, but what burns me is the people who jump in to sabotage the thread and get it locked down or deleted because they don't like the content. It may not be religion, but a touchy subject like politics I have read many people that post to such threads and try to disrupt and I or others have asked why are you reading this thread if you dislike what we are talking about. The same goes some what with the ones that gets of the main focus of the thread, I have even seen moderators and others post to get back to the topic of the thread, but some would like to ruin a good thing I guess.....

I do not attack people based on their religion. Most of my family is DEVOUT Catholic, and I was proud to dress in my finest and attend their First Communions and their Confirmations. I took pictures, gave religiousy gifts, told them I was proud and I am-- proud of their convictions, their hearts, their determination to leave the world a better place.

I have no argument with religion.

I do, never, I have SERIOUS problem with bigotry. And racism. And misogyny. And xenophobia. And if people are casually bantering about any of THAT nonsense, you can bet your boots I am going to swarm in and 'ruin a good thing'.

I didn't say a word about you. You said you don't understand why people who don't agree with a thread don't just skip over it, and since I will not EVER just pretend a thread I don't agree with doesn't exist when it has something truly nasty it, I answered as to WHY I don't ignore it.
