Hi all, keep up the good work, the first time I saw this variety on here my mouth just dropped, its one of the most spectacular cochin varieties out there, if I ever come across a good pair, I'l snatch them up in a second and join your discussion, keep it up and keep on with the encouraging education!!!!

They will be a good start for you but you are really going to have to work on type. Forget color and focus on type. Your end product should look like a basketball or at least a round shape in profile. Stay away from heart shaped birds, if at all possible.

Your roo has a lot going for him but you may want to be on the look out for another with a bit better type and possibly color. He is really dark but still has some good qualities about him. Lovely chest and I like the way his neck and head sit above his chest. Back looks a bit long but it could be the way he is sitting.
I know pullets are hard to get so trying to acquire another roo with great type will have you off and running. Cull anything from that breeding with poor type and keep only the best. Cull hard and keep or bred only the best. Very hard to do but the rewards will be breath taking!

Wow.. so many nice pics. Beth, beautiful

Hey Erin, have I told you lately how nice and kind and pretty you are? Did I mention how pretty your birds are and how much I'd love some hatching eggs from your handsome new boy? Hehehehe... I thought maybe flattery would help.
I 2nd MrsHollywood, where'd you find this gorgeous new addition?
