Well it will apparently only let me upload the one picture. I will add a link. Lol. Anyway I have only 4 hens and 4 roosters.

Hens:
Barnyard bantam
EE (mix bought as EE but Is huge and with no beard)
And 2 salmon faverolles

Roosters in order of rank:
Buff orpington
Blue copper marans
EE with same coloring as BlCM
And coming in last a salmon faverolle.

Most of the chicks so far are bearded and feather footed...but that's all I can be sure of. They are all different sizes, and most seem to definitely have a good bit of orange coming in. Some orange stripes, spots and solids.

Hi all! Just found this thread and since I love my mixes most of all in my flock, I figured I'd share. I just had a new batch of broodies start hatching eggs and I am super excited to see what happens. They're a mix of barred rock and ihavenoideawhat from a family friend, and eggs from my EEs, brown leghorns, buff orps, and blue and black copper marans covered by a white leghorn roo. NO IDEA what the newest babies will turn out to be (they're all white and butter yellow with black specks all over), but I do have pics of some of my recent mixes!

First up is the easter egger x black copper marans boy, Cinder. He is getting huge fast and has the fluffiest ruff of feathers around the neck, as well as an extremely puffy beard. Patchy feathers on the legs is just awesome, too.

And here's a yet unnamed hen who is quite special. Her mother passed a few weeks ago, and she was the only one of four eggs to hatch during incubation. We had some of her eggs in the fridge and they were put under one of our broodies, so at least one of the chicks running amok outside is hers. This gal's momma was an Ameraucana x brown leghorn, and her dad was an easter egger. She is quite pretty, and her olive legs look almost metallic.

And this last one I am quite sad to say passed away recently, as well. She was the sweetest, most gentle hen I've had the pleasure of knowing. She was an EE x white leghorn cross. This picture isn't very recent, but it is one of the best I have of her. I'm hoping to duplicate the mix at some point and have a few young white leghorn pullets in a brooder for the project.

I've got a ton more mixes, I just need to take good pictures of them. I just love the mystery of not knowing what they'll look like all grown up!

Just found this thread. I am in for mixed because I have been some farms when growing up they had only one particular Chicken breed. When got older and seen some of others that had such a variety it made it a beautiful to look at to me. So now I am started raising chickens since last year at first not by choice it started as joke on my boyfriend that ended up with chicken math for me. So right now I have 5 I am not sure some red they look light brown in color they lay really big brown eggs. My friendliest. I have 1 year old few months here or there 1 black and white some say she is a barred rock or laced Wayndote, 1 white Plymouth,3 cochins females 2 white 1 not sure, 1 black male and 1 white male cochins these guys are 12 weeks old. Then ordered babies from a hatchery in May so now I have 2 brown leghorn cockerals(?) 2 females brown legghorns, order 5 EE pullets, I suspect one is a male, Then have 4 buckeye pullets. Then 1 white leghorn rooster if don't knock it off will be in my stew pot. But I am not striving for the best, I just want ones that can with stand cold winters in Wisconsin and lay eggs and cull if need to be for meat. But I think the math ain't done with me yet been looking at other cold weather birds I want. We will see.

These are some of my girls and guys I have 28 so far. Once The oldest EE went broodie on me two months ago I am sad to say I broke her because she was real mean to the other girls. She hasn't laid since. She laid blue eggs. I haven't had go yet. I keep hoping they wait until I get the second half of old coop re done.

Hi! I posted a long time back asking about crosses with an OEG bantam roo (I was wanting some light colored chicks)and I'm happy to say that one egg managed to hatch back in may and is starting to feather out real good and, joy of joys, is mostly white! I wanted to thank everyone who offered advice! It sure was a help! :) I was surprised because it came from the cross with one of my EEs that has no white at all! So now I have questions again! :)
Since it is half EE should I expect the color to change alot or is it going to stay close to as is? Also, I'm unsure of which size the chick is going to be? Can anyone tell yet from just looking? Now, if it ends up being a pullet, will she lay the same color egg as the mother? I'll post pics of the parents and the chick. Thanks again everyone!

You can see theres a bit of peach color on the back and tail that matches the little peach colored banty hen in the pics, (shes the one who brooded and has raised the chick) and shes sister to the roo above so I think thats where that color is coming from, but the gray/blue and gold hen is the one who actually laid the egg. Not sure if it's clear in the pics, but the chick ended up with a single, dark colored comb and the legs are almost black.
