Mixed breeds

Anyone have a suggestion as to what I should mix with my golden double laced Barnevelder roo? Looking to add another hen to our small flock soon and have been selling the ancona and blue wyanndotte barnevelder mixes like crazy. Was looking for something that would make a pretty mix, be sweet and lay well that everyone would enjoy. All our mixes turn out jet black except for one of the blues. But for what they are they sell better than the purebreds

EE x Speckled Sussex mix. Thought I'd post some pics. It's really pretty, but sadly I think it's a rooster. Opinions on gender?

frizzle x frizzle will result in dead chicks. (I can't for the life of me remember what the word is right now). I don't know about frizzle x 1/2frizzle will do

Frizzle X frizzle results in chicks with extremely brittle feathers and MAY have other problems. It is not a LETHAL gene that results in dead chicks but will result in ugly patchy feathered chickens that look like they are a serious molt all the time. That combination is not a good one.

Lethal, that's the word. Hehe silly me.

Ok. I read/heard that frizzleXfrizzle is always lethal. The chicks are born dead. Is that not so?

No, you may get some eggs failing to hatch because of a weakness. Short legged chickens and tufted Araucanas have a lethal gene even then it will reduce your hatch rate. Not always fatal. Need to research for more details since I'm no expert. Hope that helps.
