Mixed breeds

Does anyone know what a buff Orpington mixed with a black silkie will end up looking like.

haven't got silkies got a chick out of a barred rock roo over a buff orpington hen and this is what she looked like, coloring seems to favor the roo body favored the hen

she's the one on the left

heres a couple more so get bigger picture

Newbie question here. How many breeds do I need to get a wide pallette of color in my mixed breed flock? I currently have RIR hens, a Cuckoo Marans hen, and some "Cinnamon Queen" hens being covered by a Rhode Island Red rooster. I would like to see a rainbow in my flock. Any advice is welcome.

I adore my fayoumis. They're a pretty breed and do awesome free ranged. Mine even kill snakes! They're not broody but I love the look of them.

EE's, Wyandotte's, and Barnevelder's are all really pretty/colorful. Also if you look into different colors of Orpington's, Leghorn's, or Silkie's. Of course those are just a few breeds out of many. Crosses have the best colors in them. At least that's what I find!
I have a red partridge Silkie crossed with a black and white EE and she definitely adds variety to my flock!

Count me in! I've got an incubator full of mutts slated to hatch on Monday. I cannot WAIT to see what they look like! I've got 3 roos (barnevelder, silver penciled rock and EE) over a bunch of different hens (white and barred rocks, EE's,RIR,Jersey giant and my tiny feather-legged bantam EE). Dad to most of them is probably the SPR but the EE is really young and umm...enthusiastic, so he's a definite possibility, too. Lol. Should be an interesting mix of colors, anyway.

Awesome! I bet you'll get some very pretty colors and patterns out of those breeds!
