I'm sorry Bob. That is the worst.Good evening folks
I made it through the week. I guess that's a good start. I've never done well around lazy and incompetent people, which describes my new manager to a T.

I have to confess I am getting a bit of a chicken-crush thing for Alice. She has quite a look about her (now she has taken to wearing feathers again)!Chicken Tax started in ByBob's thread. It's the price one pays for not talking about chicken related things.

It is baby Hattie roosting in the front window because Lilly would not let them in the coop.Is that an old photo? Is it a baby Hattie by any chance?
I think she is just spectacular. I just love her up-do.I have to confess I am getting a bit of a chicken-crush thing for Alice. She has quite a look about her (now she has taken to wearing feathers again)!

I beg to differ.it's the only sport where you can't fall down.
Cool. Something like this?
Oh! Sorry, it works for me. Here's a screen shot. This link only connected me to the general Bunnings website MJ.![]()
I think you would find it easiest to go with endemic local plants MJ. At least to start with.
Once you've got some small trees and /or large shrubs established for shade and lots of mulch down you might have more success with exotic species.
What do you want to provide for your chooks? Shade, shelter, perches, browsing? All of the above? I planted 2 blueberry bushes for my girls, one of which survived, but I'll probably have to keep it's protective cage around it for at least another season. As RC said, it will provide both food and shelter eventually.
There may be some local bushtucker plants that will serve the same purpose if you can't get blueberries to grow. Many herbs like lots of sun and well drained soil. Aloe vera is supposed to be good for them too.
Don't forget that you can plant some ground covers and herbs in the pavers just outside their run for them to peck at if you are worried about them digging up the plants.
That helps to explain your anti pool bias over on my thread.I beg to differ.
I can sink to the bottom of a pool faster than gravity can pull me.
Swimming to me is something I have to endure once in while mainly because it's a cheap bath.
I can sort of swim; enough to save my life if I'm quick, but all that relax in the water nonsense I hear is for people who aren't lead bricks I've assumed.
Smart lady.I'll go up to the state nusery and ask for recommendations![]()
