The flights have made attending the funeral impossible I'm afraid.

Getting there is fine, there's a direct flight Monday evening. Coming home again is messy. The first flight home is Wednesday, via Melbourne. Two nights in a hotel and I'd rather not fly via Melbourne just now. The next direct flight isn't until Thursday evening, 3 nights in a hotel and earlier that day I'm booked in to have my second covid vax, so that's the funeral out.

Luckily the service will be streamed, so I'll make it a priority in Tuesday. I'm sure she'd have requested donations to charities rather than flowers, so I'll look into that tomorrow.

I'm so sorry. That's unfortunate.

I'm disappointed there weren't seats on the first direct flight home. I'll keep checking but I doubt the right combo of direct flights will be available.
