MJ's little flock

Where do you post photos of your flock Kurby? I'd love to see them.
I actually don’t have a real dedicated place for my flock, but I’m thinking I should even if I’m the only one on the thread 😆😆😆 I am usually posting about my chicken children in this thread though -

I have a lot of chickens (chicken math got me good!!) but I love every single one of them! 😍 My daughter and I can name and tell apart each one…we are officially obsessed 😆

I attached a few so you can see them, but I won’t bombard your thread with all of them 😆😆 Some of the crew…we are a suburban chicken “farm” :)

Oooh some really pretty ones in that assortment. ❤️❤️

Ah! @Ribh has had Vorwerks and I think in the end had mixed feelings about them. I agree with you, they look wonderful!

I'm secretly hoping for a speckled Sussex, a Dorking, and an Orpington, but it doesn't matter enough for me to take the step of specifying a breed preference. Any of the other breeds would be just as treasured.
Oh really?? I wondered about their personalities! They’re so striking, but I guess they can’t all be beautiful and amazing personalities right? 😍 I have never had a Sussex or a Dorking but they both seem awesome! I do have Orpingtons though and I adore them! They’re just big, easy going, sweet birds 😍 I have a lavender laced English, a mauve splash, a lavender cuckoo, a lavender, a chocolate, and a mauve. I have also had THREE lavender roosters prior to the cuckoo one I now have 😆 All supposed to be pullets of course. They just have such great personalities and are so easy. ❤️❤️

Wow! So many beauties! The rooster is an absolute stunner!

How do you find the plastic coop? Or is it a nest box. I've read plastic is less hospitable to mites than timber.

Thanks!! I agree! 😍😍

I got them from Omlet! I originally didn’t want to go with their coops because I love the wood ones that are so pretty (like my Indigo Chicks coop)…but someone was selling their whole set up at half the price on Craigslist so I decided to try them out. I love them. They are durable, easy to clean, have very easy and logical doors and attachments, mite free, and the chickens don’t seem to care that they’re not cute wooden cottages haha. The prices are a bit steep but they’re so worth it on the easy scale.

No doubt she'll share a few thoughts when she has the time and energy. She wrote about them on her thread, Ribh's d'coopage, but one of them was paralysed for a long time, came good for months, then died suddenly. I have a dim recollection they didn't fit in well with her flock and did their own thing. And this is from Ribh, who loves chickens that do their own thing, so it must've been quite full on for her to comment on it.

Oh wow! Good to know! I’m a “lap chicken” person myself haha. They sound like they would not be the best fit for me. So pretty though!

And it's quite a pretty colour too. I can imagine it working in most gardens.

I have a feeling plastic coops might take over from wooden prefabs in the future.

I think she found them to be bossy.

I wish! I was looking for something I could use as a quarantine coop. The UK seems to have a lot of choice. I only found one in the US and that was too tiny to be useful.
