I've never had a lilac but have killed lots of plants so I know what not to do.

The usual answer to encourage growth is:
a bit of a prune
mulch around the base but keep it clear of the trunk
feed with seasol
water in well
talk to your plant.

Is this the same as Seasol?

This is what I did with my dogs, then progressed to closely supervised free range time together. Now the chooks will walk up to the dogs and drive them away from their bones.
The dogs know where they are in the pecking order!

Having a Tsuki had to help with that. I imagine having someone to bully them would be a helpful tool.

Thanks for noticing. I usually wake up about 4:30. I enjoy the stillness of early mornings. Until summer when it will be broken by the Princesses yelling at me!

Wow. Where did you gain this plant knowledge?

I think my MIL told me that frangipanis will grow from cuttings, plus I’m part of a FB frangipani group. When I’m back in a gardening headspace, I’ll try to source a Blood Sun and George Brown locally.
