Look at poor Mary on high alert. Poor old darling is very scared of Peggy.

Whereas Janet hasn't even bothered to stand up. You can see her in the shady shelter behind Peggy.

Mary calls Peggy her nemesis.

Janet calls Peggy the pesky little twirp.

And you can add notes on the calendar which I like, so when they are broody and when they go back to laying. Also a box you can check if egg was broken or whatever when entering it.

Can it work even if you aren’t sure whose egg it is?

My problem is that Hattie and Sydney lay eggs almost identical in color. I did not check for eggs yesterday and I got two today, one in the Cluckle Hut, one in the main coop. Now did Sydney lay in both places or is Hattie laying again? Here are the two eggs. The one from the main coop could be darker but I can't be certain.

With Sansa I had 3 eggs I could not tell apart.

I could track Phyllis, white eggs and Lilly, weird colored eggs (don't really need a program to track her 3 or 4 eggs). Otherwise I would have to have a joint section for Hattie/Sydney.

Yes that is my problem too.

That will be soft wood. Keeping it painted will help it last.

I'd be betting on the bottom one being Sydney's. The texture of the shell is different & looks just like Hepzibah's.

That would be odd as Sydney has laid all of hers in the Hut so far and that one is from box 1 in the main coop.

Yes, you just would not know by hen. I'm thinking of trying it with a joint layer, Hattie/Sydney.
