That would be odd as Sydney has laid all of hers in the Hut so far and that one is from box 1 in the main coop.

Look at poor Mary on high alert. Poor old darling is very scared of Peggy.

Whereas Janet hasn't even bothered to stand up. You can see her in the shady shelter behind Peggy.

Mary calls Peggy her nemesis.

Janet calls Peggy the pesky little twirp.

And yet they are letting her hatch. Of course, I wouldn't want to try and stop her.

Yes, you just would not know by hen. I'm thinking of trying it with a joint layer, Hattie/Sydney.

On my paper calendar I just do brown or blue and make a note if I am certain whose it is for some reason.

The texture of the shells looks so different to me I would be betting on 2 different hens ~ but hey, your birds & you will have a much better idea than I do.

I stopped keeping track when Daisy, the greatest hen ever passed. I think I should start back up so I can recognize any issues.

You would think I would. Hattie is definitely red enough to be laying. I guess it bears closer observation.

I think it's probably best for Peg to hatch before Mary. I imagine she would be really mean to Mary and chicks if it were the other way round.
