MJ's little flock

How are they all going Loz? Are they healthier?
Nyssa definitely is; Penguin I’m not so sure about. I’m watching her carefully and will see behaviours like scratching in the garden (which I take as a positive). She’s still not chatting much and being sassy, but I think she’s still moulting. She got stuck into the commercial feed this morning, and then completely turned her beak up at the cooked breakfast! She’s the first to go to bed in the evening and I try to keep an eye on poops. I don’t want to be shoving antibiotics down her throat at every opportunity, so I’m just watching for now. I’m also wondering if the weather is affecting her mood.

I'd be putting it down to the moulting. One of those Vet supplement thingies is specifically for birds growing new feathers ~ or just add extra protein for her.

Moulting is very hard work for the hens at my place. They spend a lot of time not paying attention to the world.

I'm glad she tucked in to her food at least. That's gotta be good for her.

Fun under the shady shrub :D
