MJ's little flock

Thanks MJ! Lottie’s still not great; she feels a bit heavier and seemed to be getting more interest in food, but she seems to have lost some strength in her legs. It’s still windy here so I’m trying to keep her from being cold, but it’s a real balancing act trying to keep her warm and allowing her to be a chicken.
Give some cracked corn. It's suppossed to help with keeping them warm. Not sure of the science behind it ~ but there is some. 🤣

Janet stood still for a photo! I feel like I've won the lotto 🤣

It seems she moulted all but three butt fluff feathers and her flight feathers this time around. As far as I can tell, almost every feather is a new one.

To put it simply. Carbohydrates metabolize quicker creating more heat. It will also put weight on her. Not the best kind of weight but at least it would create some energy reserves for her while she puts good protein on slowly.

I highly recommend giving her corn in the short term.
