MJ's little flock

This is how my handiwork usually proceeds: I set out to achieve a milestone...

Then I realise a minor but time consuming task really ought to be completed first 🤦‍♀️ like painting the galvanised brackets so they can dry before attempting to mount the wall panel and smudging it with the wrong colour paint. Or trying to paint them after the wall panel is up and getting paint all over it.

Botheration. It'll be at least another week before I'll have time for take 2 on mounting a wall panel. I should have a second one painted up by then and if so, I'll try to mount two on the same day.

I am a sucker for home improvement projects and this is a home improvement project for chickens so even better!
I am hosting a couple of different bunches of friends for tea and brunch over the next few days so I have spent the day baking. One has to be gluten free which is a bit of a challenge on the gluten front. Just finished making a quite passable chocolate hazelnut cake.

Oooh! Will you share a photo of it?

GF baking is not easy. One of my friends adheres to a gf diet for her health and does a lot of her own baking. Will all the snacks be gf?

Today is a public holiday and I'm going to attempt to put up the first wall panel of the roosting box and close off another potential sparrow door.

I also need to add a screw to the bracing I added to the human door. Somehow I overlooked one last time.

Then I'll start painting the next wall panel.
I can't wait to see the progress! :thumbsup

I guess I will need to wait. Oh well. :idunno
Sorry. I'm disappointed too.

I did add that one screw to the bracket of the human door, I closed off a sparrow door, and I put the first coat of paint on the next wall panel. And of course, now the brackets holding the uprights to which the panels will be mounted are now painted and drying off.

At least it's not raining.

Good evening folks :frow

just fyi... the baker's thread has a couple GF folks on it. And they're pretty creative.
Ooooh - any idea what the baker's thread is called? I will definitely look at that.
I think I am OK with flourless cakes - the chocolate hazelnut is even better in the morning (I make small sample cakes for the cook to taste!) and I may do a lemon one.
I also am just leaving crust off some recipes - so quiche becomes frittata and none the worse for that!
I am also making loads of salady type things so those are safe. I gather people with true celiac need to avoid soy as well so I have avoided Tofu and soy-sauce.
It is actually fun figuring it all out, and makes me appreciate gluten even more (I like crusts and pies!).

I'm so very grateful to be tolerant of gluten! Life is sooo much easier.
