Cooptopia

I enjoyed making this coop, but I should have had better plans for my model!!!

It was made for 2-3 hens and their chicks. We might be getting a goose too, so better make it big!

First thing was to choose a site and put up the frame. We had a little help, the neighbors dog came to inspect. You can see one of our hens telling us to get a move on!

A week of rain, no work on the coop. Ok, were off and running, in the shop we made the nest boxes, framed the windows, and made the roof. Also put in the hardware cloth for the windows.

This is the floor inside the coop, we stained it and put a sealer on it to make it last, do you think the chickens will appreciate all this work???


Here we are, back in the shop to paint. We decided on a sky blue, it was left over from painting our house last year...I painted the egg sign!

We then hauled it outside with the tractor, this is a view from the light of the barn lights. Hope you like it. I think the new baby chicks will enjoy their new Cooptopia!

KFC--that little blue coop is adorable! And I want to live in that log cabin. THere is even a hitching rail for my horse! Boy, my fam thought I was entering at the last minute...you guys just made it in. I think you should have waited until 11:57 to post! Keep that DSDiva on pins and needles for just a bit longer.
