"I saw her," said Silver, as she walked in a quick trot over to him. "She's with us, I believe you're looking for... Dahlia?"
He let out a sigh of relief. "Thank goodness she made it out of the fire okay," he neighed. Just before he could turn around and look for her, Dahlia whinnied very loudly and happily and trotted to him, tears of joy spilling from her dark eyes. "Buchephalus! Y-you're alive!" she said, nustling her head against his shoulder.
"Dahlia, I was so worried. I'm sorry I couldn't have joined you any sooner, the blaze was a bit tiring and I had to stop and rest...As you can see...I'm a bit scarred up and I'll need to recover a bit. Otherwise I'm okay."
Dahlia smiled and nodded. "Did anyone else make it out?"
"A few others, but I couldn't see too well above the high flames and smoke," he responded.
"I'm just glad that at least you're okay, I was convinced you wouldn't have been able to hop over the fallen, flame engulfed trees."
"Me? Not being to hop over those burning trees?" he chuckled a bit, coughing up a tiny bit of soot along the way. "Hon, you know I'm a champion jumping horse."
She rolled her eyes playfully and said, "Well yes...But such circumstances can really spook someone...I'm just glad you're okay, I really missed you."
"Me too," he said, nustlings his head against hers. "I love you," Buchephalus whispered into her ear.
"I love you too," she replied.
