Moving egg peeping but not moving for 2+hrs!? URGENT!!!

Quote:
The chick is sleeping. Hatching is a lot of work.

Do they peep in their sleep?

Haha YES! I remember that from the chicks we got from Mcmurray. They would sometimes peep in their sleep. Too funny to watch

Even my young pullet still does that. But not all the time. Don't panic if you don't hear anything for even an hour

After they internally pip is when they are learning how to breath.
This takes time. It like a child learning to switch from placental to oxygen breathing.
As they use up the oxygen in the aircell carbon dioxide builds up which causes them to start to jerk their neck muscles causing them to externally pip.
Intervention can slow or even stop this process, not to mention the drop in humidity and temperature you will cause.
Internal to external pipping can take 12-24 hrs.
External pipping to hatch can take another 24 hrs.
If the egg hasn't even externally pipped yet you are going to do more damage than good at this point.

If you do try to help it, it will die. Let nature take its course, what will be will be. It may very well be resting and can take 24hrs from pip to hatch.
