Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I wouldn't worry yet, they don't always lay every day. And changing where she is supposed to lay may have thrown her off a bit. With mine, if I change anything, they get funny about it. At her age, her egg production will be less than when she was younger.

I adopted my first one in early December, I think. Maybe November. Somebody dumped her at the local park or she escaped. Anyways, she was so cute I adopted her for $10 from a local pet store that took her in to find her a home. When I got her home she started cooing at me and when I would pet her she leaned into my hand and kept cooing. I was smitten and have been putting my flock together ever since. So I am fairly new to them as well. When they started following my husband around wagging their tails, he declared they were his favorite ducks. That was after just a few so I have been pursuing different colors since. Maybe I will go outside and get some recent pictures to share.
O how sweet, I'm jealous. No body leans into me around here

I wish I had started with Muscovies. I really like the brown color.

My hen, Paddles, started laying on Feb 10th and the last four eggs she's laid have been jelly eggs. I feed them Layena and they also get free choice oyster shell. Any idea how I can help her with this? She's acting fine, normal poops etc. and I can't figure out what's going on with her.
Is she being over mated? That can sometimes cause this.

9 day since i started incubation: Out of 13 eggs in the incubator 6 have veins etc. 3 started development and died. 4 had no sign of development.
I hope at least those 6 hatch out fine and healthy! I really want to have at least a female descendant of my lost duck

Why such poor fertility??? My drake was not related to duck. They were mating every day also with a Campbell drake
woo hoo! Congrats!

unless they are really young these are hens, now that being said, since you don't know how old they are and since they have been fattened up to sell for meat they COULD be yearling drakes (but I don't think so) check the legs short stubby legs are drakes usually. Now hows that for a definitive answer LOL

That's a lot more definitive than my "I have absolutely no clue". The fattening is actually my fault, they were skinny as rails and their faces were pale pink when they got here. The only info I got from the woman I bought them from was that they were hatched last year. Not wanting her to change her mind, we stopped asking questions and loaded them up. I'll go look at their legs compared to my Cayuga and Welsh. And thank you for your help!
They are very pretty.

What is in this layena? I feed everyone here (and thats a large variety lol) flock raiser crumbles, out of 40+ hens I usually get 3 or 4 jellies a season.

It's a purina feed. 16% protein, calcium, vitamins A and E just to name some off the top of my head. It's supposed to be the best for layers.

Highly doubt it considering our drake thinks he's human. Lol he's a house pet at this point.

The females will have legs set closer together under their bodies and almost look pigeoned toed when walking their legs are slim, the drakes legs set farther apart and are thick. plus drakes are much larger than females too. They are beautiful Scovy's don't you love those blue eyes. Good for you rescuing them.

Just a little update here :)

We finished the aviary for my mandarins :)
The Muscovies are super frisky ( if you get my drift), I have to get rid of some eggs soon, and I need to star trying to breed Farm girl with my only chocolate male so I can get chcocolate females, and that way they're color sexed, since chcocolate male with black female= black drakes and chocolate females
And we did the thing I said we would never do, we got chickens ;) 2 baby bantam chicks
