Mine had a small comb until after she started laying. Then bam! Big comb! I have blue and splash Andalusians. I’ll try to get pics tomorrow.

Might not be great.
Dumor lay
Dumor layer but actually is 16% within 3.80 to 4.80% ca....not good?Might not be great.
Dumor layer or .....?
What's thee calcium percentage?
Well, I've never used layer feed. Non-laying birds should have a bit more protein and less calcium(~1.x%).Dumor layer but actually is 16% within 3.80 to 4.80% ca....not good?
Okay, its time for a new bag now so I can get the 20% also they do have os and grit frre choice. Also a bit of scratch. The corn is frozen -warmed up and mixed w/ oatmeal about 1X a week. Too much? I can cut back...tho its the favorite thing in the world!!!Well, I've never used layer feed. Non-laying birds should have a bit more protein and less calcium(~1.x%).
My 'not great' was about the corn.... the 'lots of corn' may well be diluting the minimal nutrition in the layer feed too.
I feed a 20% all flock type feed, with OS on the side for the layers, and they get some scratch each day.
Ohhh what a pretty hen! Her comb looks like Etta's. I'm told it may get large when she starts laying. Will keep you posted! (Ok now I want a splash Orp too...lol!)I'm pretty much positive she's an Andalusian, given streamlined build and white earlobes. While I don't exactly have an explanation for the small comb, other than that she's waiting till point of lay, there's pretty much no doubt as to her breed.Blue Splash Marans sport red earlobes and heavy body type, which is demonstrated here by Eperny:

Splash Orpingtons also "carry a little extra weight."
My 19-week-old Andalusian also exhibits a teensy tiny little comb. It's barely grown since this picture was taken last month.

BTW, she is named Etta Blue as a tribute to Etta James - queen of the Blues.Ohhh what a pretty hen! Her comb looks like Etta's. I'm told it may get large when she starts laying. Will keep you posted!
