My Araucana & Ameraucana eggs! Now with PICS ;)

My first Araucana chick hatched!!! It did the funniest thing... it managed to zip, but left little strips like suspenders all the way around the egg

Silly thing!

Here's the egg

And HERE IS MY ARAUCANA!!!!

Isn't it ADORABLE!?!

It's a blue and gold color... any guesses on color????

So far I have (as far as I can tell color wise)

2 Wheaton or possibly Blue-Wheaton Amer.
2 Black Amer.
4 Blue Amer.
2 Splash Amer. (Possibly one is light blue?)
1 little Araucana
3 pipped eggs
about half a dozen still sitting there

Not only is a second Araucana egg hatching... but I think my first one is rumpless and bi-laterally tufted!!!!!!!

Next year I know I'm going to have to try hatching some different breeds, I don't care what DH says!!

If I have to build more coops myself, I will do it!!

Well, I'm still waiting on a couple of pips

...... hopin like CRAAAZY that at least one more Araucana egg hatches!

So far I have 12 ADORABLE Ameraucana babies and 1 little Araucana

I think maybe he is Splash???

I just love how they all settle down and nap at the same time..... like a Kindergarten class

hehehehe It's the best! I tip toe and am extra quiet so as not to wake them... because once you do, it's that chain reaction! LOL

Well, now that it has fluffed up, it appears it isn't tufted

LOL That's ok... I still love it all the same!

They do show up right away, right?

And then they cock that big fluffy cheeked head sideways and give you this look! They're like my son... no matter how naughty they are, they're so frellin cute you gotta love em!

It looks to be a black one.

Hey Jody, when you see this...... what are the odds that these two chicks are related? One Splash and one Black

LOL I think maybe the Splash is a pullet and the Black a roo... but of course only time will tell for sure

Oh well, at least I won't have to feed them.
