Hi Pheasant 24! Nice aviary. What general area are you in? I have an aviary about the same size but it is more shaded. I was wondering what kind of natural greenery do you have in your aviary? I have Red Goldens and they love to nibble almost anything green. Hee.
I live in south west michigan. I have White Cedar, Hemlock, some other Pine Tree, Hardy Bamboo, and a tropical plant ind the shady half and I have
prairie grass on the sunny part then, by the pond there is Iris. they won't eat White Cedar or most evergreens. They will eat the bamboo so I have a
cage over it until it gets bigger and if you get enough grass they won't eat it all. They don't really eat the Iris for some reason. I also dug up some plants
and they do ok. so I hope that helps you.
You won't believe it. Due to your post I got the spurt of energy needed to plant some grass clumps and daisy fleabane. The pheasants and doves went crazy with the new introduction to being green. Jeepers, they have eaten and walked all over it.
Everything is watered in; the birds absolutely loved the grass. Hee! Thks for the stimulus. Plus it looks great!
