My chickens only want pasta

But it is true that garlic, and onions bleed thru to the egg flavor!

Hmmm... I'm scratching my head trying to figure out how it could, but I dont think I've actually fed any of my birds either of those things.

I have to make most of my meals from scratch because of weird food allergies & it takes forever! The time factor alone makes me more prone to eat the leftovers & not share them. Shhhhh! Don't tell them I'm hoarding food in here.

Allergies. what a pain! I hope you can eat ice cream at least!

That was many, many years ago. They had some help from the ducks and a goat. Once the carrot were broken up, they ate 'em just fine. Nowadays, my banties will eat the greens, but not the carrots (unless they're cooked. If I peel them first, they'll eat the peels, but not the carrots. Goofy birdlings!

I haven't tried giving my birds carrots... my horse already got me trained. She won't touch them.

However... there's a reason for that. My Aussie mix loves carrots. I used to buy the thick, hard woody ones at the organic bin in the market, cut them into chunks about three inches long, and stick them in the freezer, then give them to her when she was teething as a puppy. She's loved them ever since. She and my bay mare are best buddies.

The bay just picked any carrots out of her treat bin and threw them to the dog.

I have given my birds the bug and bird-nibbled strawberries, they voraciously attacked and stripped my honeyberry bushes - so much purple poop! - and the other night they got some well-stripped-off corn cobs to peck at.

Yeah, its a nightmare! :he I can eat anything that's not too processed (think food that your grandmother/great-grandmother used to cook) which means pretty much nothing from a box. I LOVE ice cream, but can only eat the ones that have basic, straight forward ingredients (sugar, cream, coffee, cocoa, etc.... ) Once the labels start spouting out dextrose, maltodextrin, modified food starch & additives that I cant pronounce, I have to bail out & figure out how to make it from scratch. Did you know that even some brands of table salt have additives? (I have a Himalayan Pink salt & a Sea Salt here that are 'clean' that I can eat.)
