A lot of people make platforms for the feed and water. I wonder if something as simple as a brick would do the trick.

Im using a sanded scrap piece of 2x4 which has helped keep the poop out, and once I switch to shavings, should help with that too... At least to an extent lol

I like the large flakes for my chicks . Problem is feed ending up in feeder and waterer.

I was having an issue with water getting filled with shavings and poop. Did some reading and found that elevating water on a rock works like a charm. Just make sure it is level as these waterers will leak otherwise.
