I just figured out how to tell if it was a joke or not!! Wait for a second egg!! She didn't lay another one today, but if she does tomorrow than it probably wasn't a joke. If she doesn't lay for another week or two, than it definitely was a joke!! Why didn't I think of that before?? Guess I was too caught up in the excitement/confusion of it all.

Sometimes it takes a while before they lay that second one. Sometimes it doesn't, mine layed one day skipped the next and then layed again for two more days straight before skipping again, but I have heard of people who had one lay and egg and then skipped a week ore more before the second one. If the next one is a normal egg you are going to go crazy wondering what happened!
