My First Egg Is "Hard Boiled"!?!?

The egg looks poached to me.

I called my sister and asked if either she or her fiance had done this and she said she swears "NO!".
My husband is adamant that he did not do this! And he's actually getting a little peeved that I've now asked him 4 times

We have had no other backyard visitors....

Is it possible that she just has a fever and it was in there too long before she laid it??? I am SO confused!!

If the hen can be alive with an internal temp of 150F, then yes, it's possible that she just had a fever...

150F, give or take a few degrees, is when the albumin starts to coagulate. FDA wants us to cook our chicken until well overdone 160F to give you an idea...

Your hens either are laying their eggs between two cell phone antennas or you have a funny neighbor/relative/hubby.

Last egg prank I remember was when some lady went to check for eggs and found the nest box full of a couple dozen white eggs. Problem was that all her hens were brown layers (who laid on top).

Two days since the mystery egg and no more have been laid or left....the wait is going to kill me!!

I heftily interrogated my sister's fiance tonight, and he knows so little about chickens and eggs, he looked at me like I had seriously lost it....not him. He actually told me I was so lucky my chicken lays hard boiled eggs because it would save me time in the morning...and he was serious. ugh

if its not a prank you got a SERIOUS problem and I would move far away from there after documenting this better. Do you live near HAARP (Alaska) or some other top secret, military antenna array?
maybe its the same reason birds are falling out of the sky and fish are washing up on beaches...

Birth defects and cancerous growths are rampant from radio pollution but that is WEIRD! For all our sakes I hope you got a joker....cuz that would be painfully funny!
