My Flock Journey

We checked it over and it can move its leg and stuff. Doesn't make a noise when you move it or anything like that so I don't have its broken or anything. Looks a bit swollen where the joint is and holds it up when its standing.
I separated it from the rest to make sure it has enough water and it was but it was extremely stressed without the others so I dont want to stress it out anymore then it already is. View attachment 1522489 View attachment 1522490 View attachment 1522491
The most I think you can do is make sure she/he gets plenty of a water, food and warmth. You might have to carry her/him every once in while to the food and water, then back to the heat. As long as you do this I think you'll be fine. Also make sure no of the chicks are bullying her/him. I don't think splinting it will do much.
Hope she/he gets better.

Yeah ive been doing that and it doesn't seem to be getting picked on it has another chick that won't leave its side. It has been eating and drinking so im not too worried just looks like it hurts. I was going to separate it but it started to shake and chirp also. I thought its probably best to just leave it with the others.

If it's not getting picked on and is happy than that's fine. :)
Here's hoping she/he gets better soon. :fl

Update on the Black Australorp chick with the sore leg:

I made sure it had some water. It drank the water then put it near the food. It didn't eat just limped back to the heat lamp.

Also, I moved the leg and it didn't make a peep at all. It seems to be resting it a lot.

No sign of the other chicks picking on it but one stood on it when it was laying down.

I was going to give it some aspirin if it seemed in pain but it didnt make a noise when I was moving it.

If you think I need to try something else. All suggestions are welcome.

I understand maybe try planting or having dense bushes or something?
We do have some but I am going to add a few pallets leaned on the fences. I saw that someone and thought it would work well and could be done quickly and free! Unfortunately, I broke my ankle on Saturday trying to get the last chick into the run because I had seen a hawk in the sky. Poor things will have to stay in "chicken jail" a bit longer.
