My GLW is laying GREEN EGGS!! ????

I will have to take another look at her legs but they also might be greenish like an EE. She may be a mix because of she doesn't have the chipmunk cheeks but the whole green egg thing kinda tells it all! Her eggs are not blue green either they are like khaki.

Here is a picture of her first egg that kind of shows a more true color:

Again, don't mind at all except now I will just have to get a GLW someday!!! I would rename her Shirley, but I am sticking to Ezmiralda.

I have another EE coming this spring that I will call Shirley and that means that by this time next year I am going to have an awful lot of green eggs!!!!

x2 I have had both and her comb is all wrong for a wyandotte. They have those strange brain combs. This bird has the same comb as all my EE's.

My EE's:

I have now changed my signature as well.

EEs can have any type of anything. I have some with pea combs, come with rose combs, and some with the spikey combs (forget the name of them). Some have muffs, others don't. Some have beards, others don't, etc. Etc. Etc. They are mutts, so anything goes.... even tinted, brown, green, blue, speckled eggs. I get all of these things from my EEs.

Hi, You didn't say where you got your GLW aka EE. Having said that, I have three pullets in a group of GLW that I bought from a hatchery, that look like GLW's except they do have dark legs..So far two of the three has started laying and they are laying almost Olive Green eggs! Contacted the hatchery and they said that one of their EE roo's had gotten into the pen with the GLW hens. They thought they'd discovered it quick enough but apparently not. I really don't mind either, but they are refunding the price of the three that I have. I know that two of the darker legged hens have laid green eggs.
The flash made these a little lighter, our green eggs are almost olive. Veeeeeery pretty :)

I've been doing a little research because I had narrowed down my green egg layer to my Barred Rock, and it does seem as though it happens on occasion to others. I noticed that you have a BR also. We have been getting five different colors from four different breeds, so I set out to figure out who was laying what. I had the BR isolated in the coop while the others were free ranging and when she called me over to come let her out, the green egg was in the box. That settled it for me...hope it helps you a little!

My EE has a P comb but I bought her as a RIR. She's a big red bird with fantastic tempermant. She lays a large mint green egg. I guess the EE can look like most anything. Anything chickeny that is.
