Keeping growing and maturing birds on a non medicated grower or higher protein ration is a better idea than switching to a layer which has lower protein and will slow down maturity. Next time don't switch to a layer until they are all laying, or not at all as I prefer. A separate bowl of oyster shells will take care of the calcium needs. Congratulations on finally getting an egg.

It's also the vernal equinox toward the end, so the days will then begin to get longer.
Winter Solstice not Vernal Equinox ;) I wish spring was 2 weeks away!

IT FINALLY HAPPENED!!!!
Starting a 'no eggs complaint' thread often stirs them to lay. :D
JK, mostly, it has happened many times.

My Barred Rocks (3 of them) that were hatched the first of June have all started laying within the past two weeks.
My Barred Rock that was hatched the first week of June just started laying two days ago, and my Easter Eggers just started in the past two weeks also. My Blue Cochins, the same age, haven't started yet.
