Yesterday, I braved 30-degree temperatures and fairly strong winds to rake up all the leftover winter stuff and stray hay that had escaped from the hay shed. Some of it was really soggy and heavy, so I piled it all on a tarp with the intention of dragging it to the back of the property today.

As I am staring out the window, I see my three big Cochin girls are climbing on top of the pile, scratching in it and scattering the more-dry stuff everywhere. I need to go stop them before the ducks decide to help, too.
