My neighbor kidnapped and abused my chickens-seriously

I'm being smart-I'm not reporting her to her job as of yet, I'm going to wait after the court hearing, I want to see how she handles this. The Judge has him on NJ statuet 4 22-17 animal cruelty, that's a felony.

Why would you wait to see how "she" handles this?? SHE was not the one at fault! If I had to account for all my close family's actions, I would probably be in trouble a lot too. The difference? I am accountable for MY actions, and nobody elses'. You are taking a bad situation and punishing the wrong person for it. No offense, but if you do hinder the wife's livelihood at work starting trouble because of what her husband did, I hope the wife pursues you in court as well. I do not understand why you would blame the wife? Because of some less than appropriate comments once upon a stressful time you would happily cost her her job? What happened to being the bigger person? All my compassion in this situation has gone out the window.

She was there...........did nothing to stop it. Don't judge me. I did nothing wrong. I had all this time to contact her job, I didn't. Very tone you have.

By the way, have you read the other posts. 90% of your friends say I should report it to her job. Are you going to tell them the same thing?? If I saw someone anyone whether I knew them or not and saw this happen, I would try to stop it. ESPECIALLY IF I WORKED IN AMINAL HEALTH. Would you??

For the most part, in the United States when you marry someone you become financially and even legally responsible for their actions. Look at Mrs. Madoff if you want an example of this. When I married my husband I did so knowing that marriage made us partners and our individual actions would affect the other. I have given up more of my rights as an American citizen in marrying a military man than I ever thought possible. But that's the deal and I knew that going in. If this wife had an inkling that her husband was an animal abuser, then that was her deal going in.

Given that you've had a day in court, I hope some of this has settled for the OP. I'd be tempted to copy and mail a copy of the court order to the vet's office, but then, I'd want to know if I were the wife's employer so I can ask if she knew about the situation and what she did about it.

I do have another day in court, when he gets the summons. I want HIM to take repsonsiblity for what he did. I'm just baffled how-here, she had the chickens for almost 3 days (working for a vet and dealing with the heartbroken owners of the missing animlas that are plastered all over her office), why SHE would not let me know that she had them-a note, a call to the police-something. Yes, I am angry at her for that. IT WAS VERY WRONG. And I know that they had to seen have us looking for the birds. I cannot condone this. Then, he throws them in the street. When the police come, she comes running out the house yelling at me to go "EFF myself. I shouldn't be angry at this woman? They are nuts as far as I'm concerned. Would I feel bad about her losing her job-of course I would. But she shouldn't be in the field she's in.

It sure sounds like those neighbors are nuts...glad to hear that some justice is going to come of this. Watching that video, with the image of what that man did to that poor chicken is incredibly infuriating. I think you've handled yourself very well in this situation.

Animal abuse is a MAJOR no-no in my world-I don't take it lightly at all.

Thank you. I'm trying to figure out why "BIG DADDY"S GURL" is giving me a hard time about this??

Me too! Sometimes it seems like a few people take over the forum and give everyone a hard time. I have a friend that her feelings get hurt everytime she posts on here for help. I just ignore the pests.
