My night time visitors

WOW i wounder does your state allow traps or the killing of mountain lions..?? but wow i know what your going through..?and i know you sure got your hands full with such large predators, my goodness , and you never know some night they might find their way in. GOSH , i had mountain lions , on my land to , i know since one night a mountain lion was right behind me , when i was out spiting wood after 11 pm in CT, so after that i got 2 large chain link dog pen/ runs that was fully fenced over the top to keep my birds safe ,the mountain lions were still around at night and even a bear, O and i have to add this, my kids told me that we even had a big foot out in that Forrest HA, but we all were safe in our little homes me and all my animals & 9 kids,they were not all mine, i had taken in a few home less teens i found living in the Forrest in the winter, so all my animals were fine , but i wish i had a camera like you have HA i bet what we would have seen out there at night would have made our hair stand on end HA ...lol.. but i dont think those kinds of cameras were invented yet....lol. plus i found lion tracks under my first story bedroom window all winter long , well so back to the the dog pen/ runs ,i attached a giant wooden dog house that was connected on the out side of that dog run/pen & thats were my geese lived , but nothing eve got in to harm any of my geese & my chickens and goats shared a good size well built coop barn they were locked up tight every night, so for the 15 years i live at the top of this giant water fall at the edge of a 2000 acre state Forrest in CT i never had one animal ever harmed. so that might be one idea to try.

Wow! Do you have chickens in there? I bet the poop pile on the morning following those night time visits is bigger than usual!

Our night time visitors consist primarily of mosquitoes and cane toads! My gals would poop their feathers!

Being a fellow Texan having lived in the DFW area most of my life growing up I would expect a visit from the police for discharging a firearm within Dallas County.

Probably best to just bait them with some type of rat poison laced meat. Rebait as needed when the next generation shows up. I did hate those bobcats up north as they were constantly trying to get at my cat around dusk. Fortunately we had a pit mix who was smart enough to chase them and at only 55 pounds she made the ground thunder as she ran and was smart enough not to catch them.

Pretty soon they are going to have Black Bears in Dallas County and you aren't allowed to shoot them. Bobcats and pigs are a non issue to kill. I would just keep that video saved as a defense for any colateral damage(oops poisoned a bear/Jaguar/Mountain lion mr Game warden) if it ever became an issue.

about night time predators , i also had 15 English Mastiffs to protect us ,& a shot gun HA , so i was not at all worried about what was out side at night...lol.. i raised mastiffs during those years , here is my big girl Bubba at 7 months old she was bigger then my furniture HA, & one of our male pups at 16 months old, his owner was a 6,4 tall man but looked small next to his mastiff pup & they called him the biggest dog in NJ.

so i also had a few other deterrents that i could call upon . but lucky i never had to, my mastiffs would have eaten that mountain lion for a snack....lol..

Yeah I'm happy the hoop coop held up to a 35 pound cat trying to find a way in. Kudos to your construction skill OP.
