My roo is very mean

Yes we had an aggressive rooster also but the breed is not known for aggression. We ended up having to be rid od him he even tore holes in a cardboard shield we used. We did not raise him we inherited him. His breed is endangered so we hated to do it. Hatching his chicks they show ot also so maybe alot of love will conquer. He almost flogged our 2 year old so he was dangerous. Once a person hater always one.
That depends. I've had several test me when they came of age (hormones), and I stalked them and never let them eat or mate in fromt of me and it took less than a week. I am not sure with an older rooster. The best time to do it is right when they start. If I had a young child, I might think different. But my grandkids since they were 6 never had a problem. Once the six year old was flogged by a silkie roo, and I taught her to stalk and never take a step back, and they became best friends. So it depends on the situation.

I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard that you can clip the rooster's spurs (like trimming his nails) to reduce his aggression. Supposedly when you dull his weapons he loses the urge to fight. I'm sure you'd have to do it again when the spurs grow back, though.
