My rooster laid an egg

OK first off I've heard him crow and he looks male too me.

So the otherday i hooked up a video feed from the nest box. and today he jumps in the nest box and stays for half an hour or so and when he gets out there is a blue egg.

Was the egg possibly there from before he got in? Looks like a roo to me

My white EE just got off the nest and my DD went out and got a nice pink egg right before he went in the nest box.

She looks like a he..

Who was crowing then?

Definetly a rooster, the egg was already in there

She might be an EE cross. The definite roo is that white-feathered guy by the green bucket. That is classic roo coloration.

It looks so much like a he.. There must have been a mistake. Maybe your daughter missed the egg? Roosters will find nesting spots for their hens. Maybe that's all he was doing...
