I didn't have time to read this whole thread yet. However, I can tell you that your decorations are adorable! Next year there will be one in my yard as well! Frankly if the person who wrote you that letter does not have the "you-know-what" to sign it then I wouldn't give it a second thought. When my son was in first grade he had a friend that wanted to spend the night at our home. He repeated to my son that he was not allowed to stay because I was not married. Not that it matters, but I was married to my sons Dad for 10 years. Would it have been better if there were a husband in the house, even if he was a drunk wife beater? Does it make me a bad parent becaus eI chose to do it alone? NO! Neither does putting up a darn pumpkin flashing scare crow! These people obviously do not know you personally and have no reason to judge your character. Personally you and your family seem like the type of people I would call a friend. So keep up the good work!

It's not my style of humor, but I don't think it warrants a hate letter, for Pete's sake! I object more to the "little boy urinating on a Ford/Chevy/whatever emblem" stickers people put in their vehicle windows. If you had an ear of corn sticking out your scarecrow's fly I probably wouldn't like it! But I don't see that your mooning scarecrow is that big of a deal.

BTW, certain homeschoolers, my public-schooled 6th grader has never seen anyone's backside at school. Would you knock it off the divisiveness already?

Holy cow! It sounds like you have got yourself someone who really admires your decoration, NOT! I think it's funny and don't see what the big deal is. I think you should make a big sign and stake it in your yard saying, "To whomever left such a kind note about my scarecrow: I really appreciate your concern and appreciate the kind way you have demonstrated your christian views. I'm sure that our Savior is so proud of you.

what about the coppertone ad with the dog pulling the girls bathing suit that was on bill boards this isnt even a human its a strawman,some people just need to mind their own business if you dont like it dont look at it,quit being so darn judgemental

oh and if they want to gripe about something how about the high price of gas,that is way more offensive than your scarecrows

That is the best mooning scarecrow I have seen yet. I love the one on the side trying to hide a giggle!

My kids are 3 and 5 and neither of them even noticed the "moon" in the photo. I know if your display was gore filled they would have been sure to notice that, and probably be scared to boot. I always dread those types of decorations when I take the kids trick or treating but we wouldn't think twice about yours, aside from it's cute and not overdone (really... less is more people!).

I'm sorry you recieved such a hate filled letter over this but I hope it doesn't take away from your halloween fun. It's really sad that someone would be so full of hate to go out of their way to attack a stranger (if it's really a stranger) and then to hide behind their morals to boot. Morals indeed.

I would be careful to either not mention the letter to anyone, or choose your words very carefully if you do, so that if you do happen to know the anonomous hater they won't get the satisfaction of knowing they got to you!

I feel for this hater's children because, if they are willing to say such mean things to a stranger, how do they speak to their own children when they don't approve of something their kids have said or done?
