MyPetChicken is a scam - do not buy from them

I think this an an old post resurrected, but I need to chime in and say I had a wonderful experience ordering baby chicks from MPC. They were communicative and helpful every step of the way. My chicks arrived healthy and are thriving at 10 weeks old now. I received the correct breeds and they are all pullets. They are not a scam. They are wonderful company and I highly recommend them. I will 100% be ordering from them next time I get chicks.

I have ordered hatching eggs from distant locations, and I have bought eggs locally that were fertile. I have hatched eggs from both. My best hatching has been non-shipped eggs. But when ever I have ordered from long distances, I knew and was ready to not have a great hatch from them. My better experience with meyers is just the chicks not hatching eggs.

Horrible experience with MyPetChicken. Zero out of 13 eggs hatched and the company wanted to offer 50% discount off another order of overly priced unfertilized eggs.

The entire experience and communication with the company screams SCAM.

I had a charge back issued via my credit card company. I suggest you avoid this business that should be shut down. Save your time effort and money and buy from a reputable source.

MyPetChicken is NOT a legitimate experience.

Has anyone else here had a positive experience with these folks? Look at their BBB reviews - everyone has had a horrible experience with this company.
Thank you so much, I was going to purchase a couple of chickens from them a few months ago and changed my mind last minute.

They aren't a scam. Hatching eggs are a gamble no matter who you get them from, particularly if they're being shipped. There are many reasons why one might have a bad hatch that have little to do with the seller. The OP just had bad luck with that clutch. I certainly wouldn't let their failed hatch discourage you from ordering from them, although as stated elsewhere in the thread you're more likely to get a good hatch rate if you buy directly from someone local rather than having them shipped

I have had nothing but fantastic experiences ordering day old chicks from My Pet Chicken. Ive ordered 3 time and 2 friends have also ordered from them. All birds arrived healthy and all were pullets. I already have my order in with them for this spring and would never think to order from elsewhere. I think you're missing out by not giving them a try.

I don't think they're scammers at all. A lot of their chicks are extremely overpriced but that's upfront and if people don't mind....
Hatching eggs are hit or miss no matter where or from whom you get them. That's just the nature of the beast with shipped eggs.

I go into shipped eggs knowing many will not hatch. My best luck was ordering closer to home, or even getting fertile eggs from a health food store fridge locally. Sometimes driving up to someone's house i know that has chickens and asking to buy eggs.

My funniest experience was my birthday in May, my daughter was treating me to an Airbnb in the country and I could hear a rooster, I went next door and there was a man in a muddy field playing with his cows. I said "I hear roosters, do you sell eggs?" and he did. I bought 2 doz. that day.
the 2 cartons I bought and a friendly cat came to visit.
