Everything from clams to cattle will be on the list. I did hear that rabbits were not, but that was last year. Yes.. dogs and cats are involved how ever that is under the PAWS bill and not called NAIS.. Humans are also included in what is called REAL ID.. Google it...

It covers every living thing.. scary..

It makes me uneasy that when people NEED to return to self-sufficiency..start stretching the dollar, raising a meat animal or two, and a depression looming... the gubmint gets very interested.
I know it has something to do with biohazard-linked terrorists spreading anthrax into our little chickies and killing us all until we worship Allah, so it must be for our own good... right? right?

Sign me up!

As far as 4-H, I'll get right on that. I'll just copy down a few license plate numbers on the way to the fairgrounds for my ID #.

Seriously though, this started with the British Beef scare and Crueztfeldt-Jakob spongioform myoencephalepathy. It was spurred by 9/11. Now it's just becoming a lost cause...

Teri... how can you be on both sides of the fence and expect your customers NOT to notice.. beleive it or not, some if not most of us are educated.. please do not underestomate the intellegance of a farmer who wants to keep thier right to farm freely.

We are not going to have this argument on a message board. If you would like to speak with Gary Fuchs, you may give him a call at our business. Ideal Poultry has not accepted any grant money. Many of your facts are misstated and misrepresented. You are not very well informed on the current situation as it pertains to poultry. I do not know what you have heard from McMurray, I only know what is public information on their website and that he serves as Vice-Chair on the commitee to set the regulations. If you would like to have further discussion please contact Gary Fuchs at 254-697-6677 ext 5563

Gary has done more toward stopping NAIS than anyone on this board has done by chatting and complaining about it here. If you are truly interested in knowing the current situation please contact Gary or Bud at McMurray Hatchery.

There have also been quotes attributed to me on this board that were not made by me. If one of my employees made a statement in an e-mail to you then you can attribute it to them and state that she also said it was her opinion.

Once again I tell you that if a hatchery participates in NPIP they are registered whether you want to believe that or not. There is not currently any hatchery registered or not that is giving information to the government concerning NAIS.

This is reassuring. Thanks. Now if we can just get the NAIS people to leave of horses alone. If big agri business wants all this registration garbage, let them have it on their animals and let them pay for it. Small holders and independents should just be left out of it.

thats because the quote I gave was from a letter Teri had written another member of this board, and in thier (the members) shock, they sent me a copy.
Nothing has been misrepresented.

The portion you quoted was not in an e-mail sent by me. Please read the entire e-mail before you make that assumption.
