What does the comb have to do w/the color of their eggs?? And IDK the difference between 1 comb style and the next. And what is homo-blah-blah-blah?
The comb shape in relation to the color of the eggs is only for those that potentially carry colored egg laying gene. If they potentially can carry it (have it in there line from EE, ameracauna, arucana, or other colored egg laying parentage) and have a pea comb they generally will have inherited the colored egg gene too, since they USUALLY are inherited together.

What Kass said :)

My line has Ameraucana in it a few generations back. I have not yet had a pea comb NN from the line who has not laid green eggs.

Homozygous in easy to see terms is more nakkid. They have no bow tie, or very small bowtie, and less feathering altogether.

Heterozygous is less naked and more covered.

Like my girl Lucy here. She is Heterozygous

someone share a picture of a homozygous for comparison :) Countrygirl has an adorable little Homozygous girl.

Thank you all I only wish that his wings had not been clipped, does not appear to have been done correctly either. Will they grow back, my husband says they will but that is an assumption on his part and I am clueless. I am relieved to know he will do fine in our heat. He is a very beautiful bird. My girls are lucky.

yes after the annual molt in late summer or fall when they change out most of their feathers.
