Name your quietest chicken breed - Poll

Most breeds I've had, it depended on the individual. I've had a very loud BR and a super quiet one (most are in between). A loud BO and many quiet ones. Loud ameraucanas and quiet ones. Same with marans, sex links, EEs and RIRs. However I have never had a loud Brahma and even though some of my Black Copper Marans have been loud I've never had a loud Cuckoo Marans. My Welsummers and Barnevelders were fairly quiet but were flighty when they were young.

But the loudest birds I've had are Leghorns, Delawares and Lakenvelders.

Now that I've said this I'll probably have the exact opposite experience the next time I get these breeds.

My Jersey Giant (although debatable what she actually is, may be a poor quality JG or some other breed all together) is by far my quietest. she has a sweet little chirp almost, and she is over a year old.

Silkies are also very quiet, except 1, who is a loud egg song singer, but quiet otherwise.

Most vocal and chatty by far is my Barred Rock hen. She never shuts up.

My cochin bantam is very quiet, my EEs are loud mouths.

my silver laced wyandotte's are the quiet ones in my bunch.. My Production reds are very very noisy lol

Someone mentioned breeds not being voted against.

If I could mention my least quiet birds of all the chickens I've had, it would be my hatchery Wyandottes by far.

D'uccles are by far way quieter than silkies. I have a d'uccle and a silkie, both bantams. I can't get that silkie to shut up. But my d'uccle is sweet and quiet, unless she gets lonely. Then she'll squack, but not as loud as my silkie.
