Natural vs. manufactured perches

My family and I recently built a very nice coop. It is an A-frame. 1/3 of it is the actual coop part, and the rest is a greenhouse with a plastic cover. All we need to add are the perches. I don't know if I should use sticks or milled wood. Does anyone know?

sticks are cheaper, more natural

Natural tree branches with about 2-3" diameter are the most natural for the hens, and they will cover their toes when they are on round wooden branches. That is what I have on all my coops
