Naturally hatched w/ mom until mom gave up on her: leg/foot issues

My Pekin is a glutton and loves mealworms. So I mix the two together then dump them in my hands and cup my hand open just enough for her to stick her bill in there and eat it. If the others aren’t around I just let her eat from the bowl. But it will stain your hands.

I will be doing that too. Just want to make sure it's not wasted and she's getting the proper amount . I'm sure she just wants to run around with those other 2. Although they've become her groupies , pretty much obsessed with her! So cute!

That is so precious a big sis:love there always a chance this is a birth defect but I believe in exhausting all means to try and help them and the B complex has helped so many. Always holding onto hope for your little one.

Oh same here. I'll do everything I can to fix or help in any way . I wish I would have seen her hatch so I could know for sure. I saw her external pip marks but did not see the zip or hatch .. it verywell could be a birth defect. When I went back to the nest she was dry and fluffy and still under mom, I never saw her walking either.. it could be a weird hatch injury or could be from mom. I know that when I found her she was sort of buried in the corner on nest box, had blood on her face and some around her. Mom had her for most of the day .. I just dont understand why orhow it happened .. my thought is maybe it was a birth defect and mom knew she wouldn't survive in the wild?? Or.. she still had another egg under her and was mad? Or?? No clue. That egg never hatched but she layed for days until I was sure it was not going to hatch. I am positive it never had an external pip but when I opened it , it looked fully developed ... just all around weird situation . First time mom could play a part?! Also had a hen try to steal the nest and lay on them a few times.. maybe that played a part. Other than that I've got no answers. With my 2 drakes I'm sure she'll try again.

.....

I had to look hard to find the ducklings that is precious you must have an awesome dog.

Oh yes my dog Reno is amazing. He's absolutely my dog.. he loves everyone but follows me everywhere, sleeps in bed with me much to my husbands dismay, sits right next to shower and waits for me, he'll even get in the tub with me or the kids or the ducks if we let him. He doesn't like to be alone. My husband "bought" (more like said firmly I'm taking this poor dog but I'll give you money)him from some random questionable character in a parking lot on the oregon coast. He was barely able to walk, had sores everywhere , stuck in a cat kennel for his whole life - which could have only been a few weeks. Super sad. My husband is in the pet industry so we've got lots of things to help the poor baby. It's like he knows we saved him, he's very attached and very loving to all the animals here.

Here he is the very first day, being introduced to our othe dog Bandon

The mealworms we're the best to use with the vitamins! She just loves them and eats it all quickly and happily, they all get vitamins now too. Shes standing taller than ever and walking better . I've added some pictures of her leg incase you w/ more experience than I notice something I don't .
