I have one of my cuckoo Maran hens setting on 10 EE eggs, due the 22nd, and my Mille Fleur D'Uccle hen sitting on 10 eggs due the 21st..and a duck sitting on 6 eggs due the 15th and 7 duck eggs in the incubator due the 19th.

sooo....I candled last night (again!!) and I actually got to see one of the babies moving inside the egg! I'm so excited for them to hatch already! Just 9 more days....

I think I might have another broody australorp... I found her stealing eggs from the other hens and also refusing to leave the nest box.

Picked her up and she went on her way, but hoping she will decide to sit. I have eggs I want to hatch, and I still have not found a good deal on a used incubator. So,

for another broody!!

Broody hens sound much easier than a bator.

maybe, but this hen I hope will set is not exactly friendly like the current broody. but whatever, I'll deal with it if she'll set on some more eggs for me

Pro to an incubator: it can hold way more than the 10-12 my broody might be able to sit on.

Con: i don't have one.... yet.

Alright we go into lockdown in a few days. What is everyones humidity going to be at lockdown?

I'm so excited!!! 7 look good so far! Temp still holding at 99.5 and humidity 40 - 50%...For lockdown I guess I should add a sponge or something to get humidity up to around 65%
