@biophiliac not from the birds in the building, there is a house next door and it was empty for a while and the last person in left the window open so pigeons got in and laid their eggs in the kitchen lol! However they are refurbing the whole house so whoever was in took the nest and sat it outside in the open on top of a roof :/ they had been out since the morning and around dinner time i took them in as parent wouldnt go back :( so hopefully they might be able to intergrate with those pigeons ?
@Fields Mountain Farm thank you so much! Really appreciate all your help :) i know, will soon be time to do it all over again lol

Come on baby number 2!:celebrate:fl:pop

Only thing is, i saw them clearing out the building the other day so i think its getting done up also as it is on the grounds of the house so i imagine they will seal it off :/ i told them there were pigeons sitting on chicks so they are going to hold off on that until the chicks have fledged, which is a relief! however there will still be plenty of pigeons around as i cant resist feeding them lol!

Thats awesome they're going to wait!

So im just getting everything sterilized and ready to give him his first feed!! Im a massive worrier so just wanted some reassurance on this lol! I found an article which is pretty clear and says i sound feed 1ml of 1 part formula to 5 parts water, does that seem okay?
Im afraid I've been all the help I can be with this little one.. feeding and caring for baby pigeons is out of my scope..

I haven't used Kaytee or fed a newborn... does Kaytee give directions? This link describes the consistency as 'like applesauce'. Frankly I find that too vague but it does sound about right.

I have seen several videos of Scottish fanciers 'flying the doo' where they release their birds to try to woo and romance a competitors bird back to trap in their loft. So I think doo is a Scottish term for pigeon(esp a cockbird) and that's what I named my hand fed baby.
